Yes! Even non-native speakers can register and become good English teachers, if they have a high level of English proficiency of at least B2 and are willing to study and practice.

No, TEFL requires you to speak only English even in the classroom during lessons with Italian students. This will ensure complete language immersion. However, speaking Italian can be a valuable skill during lessons as it allows you to understand and anticipate students’ mistakes, especially with the beginners. We do offer Italian language courses for those who wish to learn more.

All over the world! Specifically, in Italy you can teach in all private institutions, such as language schools, bilingual and international boarding schools. Our program focuses on the education of children of all ages; however, you may also be required to teach young adults and adults of older ages.

In addition, there is a large market for teaching at companies (in-company classes) and for private lessons. The process for teaching in state schools can be a bit more challenging but not impossible.

The average salary for a full-time English teacher in Italy is €1100 per month, depending on the school and region. For private classes, you may charge between €20-25.
